The iconic sound. The meticulous grooves. The sly wit and musical mischief of Walter Becker and Donald Fagen - lovingly decoded by a handpicked crew of eleven top-drawer musicians from London’s session scene.
Formed in 2016 by vocalist and guitarist Mark Roadnight, drummer Mark Claydon and keyboard maestro Roger Evan, Simply Dan is fuelled by a simple but ambitious mission: to honour Steely Dan’s legendary blend of jazz, pop, R&B and rock with all the technical precision and playful spirit it deserves. And it shows. These musicians have worked with names across the UK and beyond, but when it comes to the songbook of The Dan, they pour every ounce of that experience into the details: tight horns, silky keys and those famously cryptic harmonies.
Their setlist? A feast for the Steely faithful and newcomers alike, packed with standouts from those immaculate '70s records: “Can't Buy a Thrill”, “Pretzel Logic”, “The Royal Scam”, “Aja” and “Gaucho” - the albums that turned meticulous studio craftsmanship into chart gold and cult status.
